18 th Annual Research & Technical Careers in Industry Conference

A technology management conference held annually in Cincinnati, Ohio.

This announces the 18th annual technology management conference, Research and Technical Careers in Industry to be held May 31 - June 3, 2008 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The conference is primarily intended for African American, Hispanic, and Native American doctoral and postdoctoral scientists who want to learn more about industrial research careeers, but other qualified candidates will be considered. 

This is a 3-day expense-paid conference. Completed applications are due by February 15, 2008.

IIASA Young Scientists Summer Program 2008
Summer Fellowship in Austria for Graduate Students in Natural and Social Sciences, Math, Policy and Engineering


Each summer, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), located in Schloss Laxenburg near Vienna, Austria, hosts a selected group of graduate students, primarily doctoral, from around the world in its Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP). These students work closely with IIASA's senior scientists on projects within the Institute's 3 theme areas. 

Funding is available to cover travel to IIASA and a modest living allowance.

 The Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition

To all Engineering Students:

Come find out what today’s steel industry is all about. There are plenty of opportunities for networking, job or internship hunting, learning about the steel industry’s advanced technology, and fun at AISTech 2008.

Did you know the steel industry provides paid summer internships (and housing) for those who may be interested in exploring a future in steel?

Sign-up for the second annual Student Project Presentation Contest and earn cash prizes (1st - $1,500, 2nd - $1,000, 3rd - $500) on Monday followed by a chance to win one of two Xbox 360’s (donated by ArcelorMittal and Nucor) and a fun evening at Dave & Busters. Then on Tuesday, May 6th visit three U. S. Steel plants.
